THE SETUP
* Fully remote — East Coast Australia
* $140,000‐$160,000 base + super
THE ROLE
This is a backend‐focused senior engineering role working on a modern, newly built system at scale. You'll be involved in architectural decisions, extending the platform's capabilities, and keeping it performant and reliable as data volumes grow. Small team, direct input into technical direction, no layers of red tape.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
* Enhancing and extending a modern .NET microservices backend
* Designing and building new features on a high‐scale data platform
* Working with MongoDB to manage and optimise large datasets
* Building and maintaining Azure cloud solutions with Azure DevOps CI/CD
* Participating in architectural and design decisions
* API development, performance tuning, and system scalability
* Using AI tooling to accelerate development and remove manual overhead
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* 8+ years of backend development experience in .NET (C#)
* Strong hands‐on experience with .NET 8+ and microservices architecture
* Proven experience working with large datasets and data‐heavy applications
* Solid MongoDB and NoSQL knowledge
* Azure cloud services and Azure DevOps CI/CD experience
* Familiarity with event‐driven architecture and API design
* Active user of AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor or equivalent)
* Strong communicator who thrives in a remote, high‐trust environment
NICE TO HAVE
* Experience with message brokers (Service Bus, RabbitMQ or similar)
* Background in data integration or automation platforms
* Exposure to data governance or compliance‐heavy environments
