The Facilities Manager Role:
* Main Responsibilities:
* Conduct weekly inspections of all assets to ensure they are in good condition.
* Perform monthly property inspections to identify any maintenance or repair needs.
* Serve as the primary contact for technical and maintenance advice across our portfolio.
* Procure services to meet technical, risk, and statutory requirements.
* Manage essential services such as air conditioning, lifts, and fire safety systems.
* Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, tenants, and tenant representatives to ensure their needs are met.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
* Monitor and manage energy and water consumption to reduce costs and environmental impact.
* Manage smaller-scale capital expenditure improvements independently.
* Prepare detailed monthly activity reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Key Requirements:
* 2+ years of experience in commercial, retail, or industrial facilities/property management.
* A building trade background is preferred but not essential.
* Proven success in a similar role or industry.
* Effective communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise reports.
* Ability to analyze and resolve basic issues.
* Proactive with initiative.
* Proven contract and contractor management skills.
* A valid driver's license and reliable transport.
