At Purple, our people start and shape conversations that matter. We are Western Australia's leading strategic communications consultancy, and we're proud of the deep knowledge and expertise we offer our clients across a broad range of sectors including Mining, Energy, Property & Infrastructure, Community, Government, Professional Services and Design and Digital. Our core values underpin the way in which we work, and we place great emphasis on supporting and developing our people. We believe that we are Greater Together.
About the Role
We're looking for a strategic and driven finance professional ready to take the next step in their career. You will partner with leaders across our business and play a pivotal role in shaping Purple's future. Reporting directly to our supportive CEO and working closely with an engaged Board, this is your opportunity to influence decisions at the highest level while driving financial excellence across the organisation.
Based in our brand-new offices at Allendale Square, you'll lead the development and implementation of best-practice finance strategies, policies, and initiatives that align with Purple's values and growth ambitions. Your insights will guide leadership, empower teams, and ensure our financial health remains strong as we continue to expand.
This is more than a finance role – it's a chance to be a trusted advisor, a key contributor to operational success, and part of a leadership team that values collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. If you're ready to step up and make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Finance Lead, you'll bring your strategic mindset and hands-on expertise to drive financial excellence across Purple. You'll be trusted to:
* Own the finance function, delivering accurate and timely management reports to our CEO, Board, and key stakeholders.
* Lead with impact, providing support to our Finance Officer and partnering with our Directors to drive financial success across our diverse business sectors.
* Shape our financial future by leading the development of financial models, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts.
* Spot the signals – identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide insightful analysis to support strategic decisions and business planning.
* Streamline and strengthen – implement process improvements that boost financial efficiency and accuracy.
* Safeguard our systems by developing and maintaining robust internal financial controls and procedures.
* Be a trusted advisor to our CEO, offering guidance on financial matters and systems.
* Collaborate externally with our taxation advisors to ensure timely and compliant FBT and Income Tax returns.
* Keep us compliant through the production and lodgement of quarterly BAS.
* Manage our cashflow – monitor daily movements and maintain accurate forecasts to support operational needs.
* Oversee our insurance portfolio, working with brokers to ensure timely renewals and effective claims management.
Your Previous Experience and Skills
* Membership of CA ANZ, CPA Australia, or an equivalent international accounting body.
* 4+ years progressive finance/accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Finance Business Partner or Senior Accountant role.
* Experience managing end-to-end financial operations for SMEs; professional services background (e.g. consultancy, agency, legal) an advantage.
* Proficient in Xero (or similar accounting software) and MS Office.
* Strong understanding of taxation laws, finance internal controls, and risk management (financial, cyber, legislative, reputational, staff).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written & verbal), with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proven time management, ability to juggle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
* High integrity, discretion, professionalism, and self-motivation; a collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
