Key Responsibilities
* Deliver brief, group-based and culturally safe support to families facing emerging challenges.
* Establish and facilitate peer support groups for parents, fostering social connections and mutual support networks.
* Manage a caseload of families requiring short-term or group interventions, supporting parent-child relationships and contributing to case planning and review processes.
The role involves assessing family needs, connecting them with relevant services, and offering practical and emotional support. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this position.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, child and family welfare or a related field.
* 2-5 years' experience in trauma-informed practice, family violence, alcohol or other drug and mental health within children, youth and family service delivery or similar.
* Developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
* Alignment with organisational values and commitment to professional development.
* Able to work independently while contributing to a multi-disciplinary team.
* Understanding of the impact of family violence on families and ability to apply a gendered family violence lens when working with clients.
