We are seeking a Regional Development Officer to join our Regional Development & Investment team and contribute to the research, stakeholder engagement and strategic work that supports game-changing projects, investment attraction and policy advocacy.
About the Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside industry leaders, government representatives and investors to help drive projects and initiatives that support regional growth.
Reporting to the Director – Regional Development & Investment, you will support the team in delivering projects, advocacy initiatives and investment attraction activities that position Townsville North Queensland as one of Australia’s leading regional economies.
Your work will contribute to initiatives that:
* Support major regional investments and industry growth
* Strengthen the region’s economic development agenda
* Support the attraction of new businesses, investment and jobs
* Provide data and insights to inform decision-making and advocacy
* Connect industry, government and investors to unlock opportunities
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting regional development programs, initiatives and industry working groups
* Conducting research and economic analysis to inform policy submissions, reports and advocacy
* Assisting with the development of investment attraction materials and regional prospectuses
* Identifying industry trends, opportunities and policy issues impacting the region
* Supporting investor engagement, delegations, events and industry introductions
* Maintaining strong relationships with business, government and community stakeholders
* Assisting with economic data collection and reporting to support regional initiatives
* Identifying potential funding programs and supporting grant and project development
