About the Role
We are looking for Residential Care Officer to work with our participants within the community and Supported Independent Living Homes. The successful applicants will work across a range of services.
We are seeking people who have a genuine desire to support people with disability who have varied support needs across different services. You will be providing opportunities for our participants to experience life and achieve goals through learning new skills and participating in social and recreational activities.
We have a wide range of shifts available across a seven-day roster, so shifts are flexible and so are we. Hours may vary depending on participant demand at individual sites and centres.
Key Responsibilities for a Residential Care Officer
 * Preparing submissions for funding (NDIS) and preparing reports to other government agencies.
 * Interviewing clients to determine and assess the nature and extent of their difficulties, developing care plans for them.
 * Monitoring and reporting on clients' progress to ascertain whether care plans are effective, and assisting clients with community participation.
 * Liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies, and private stakeholders to enhance awareness of community resources and services.
 * Referring clients to agencies (e.g., social workers) that can further assist with their care plans.
 * Planning, developing, and implementing educational, training, and support programs to help residents develop life skills and foster independence.
 * Liaising with families and providing education and care for clients in group homes: ensuring that families are engaged and informed, while delivering high-quality care and support to clients in group home settings.
Minimum Requirements:
 * Drivers License
 * First Aid/CPR Certificate
 * National Police Check
 * Minimum of Certificate III in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support.
 * Manual Handling Training
 * NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety & You
 * NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)
 * The Right to Work in Australia
 * COVID-19 Double Vaccination Certification
