We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse to our Alcohol and Other Drugs Services (AODS) team.
The Clinical Nurse role is to lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice. The Clinical Nurse (CN) is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. They have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.
AODS is a multidisciplinary team that provides a range of services for people experiencing substance use problems in a harm minimisation framework. This service incorporates a collection of community-based programs that provide structured individual support, therapeutic intervention, and team case management for consumers with alcohol and drug related challenges and associated mental health issues. This position involves providing high quality care to consumers through comprehensive assessment and specialised psychological treatments, as well as a focus on staff development through education, supervision, and organisation of in-service training. Services provided include Triage and Assessment, Opioid Treatment, including Medication-Assisted Treatment of Opioid Dependence and Counselling and Therapy.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being understand to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
* Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 6, Band 1 and the Queensland Public Service values.
* Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
* Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
Remuneration value up to $11 321p.m., comprising salary between $4262.20 - $4564.00 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6 (1)) (Fixed Term Temporary Full-time position available, up until 25/10/2026 with possible extension).
