An exciting opportunity exists for a Laboratory Technician to join our Northern Infrastructure Team based in Geebung. The successful applicant will have an understanding and basic knowledge in construction laboratories and have attained NATA signatory status for test methods. This is a full-time position, and the successful applicant may also be required to work nights, weekends and, on occasion may also have to work away from home.
You will be required to:
- Assist with Binder laboratory operations based at Geebung and possible SEQ mobile sites.
- Undertake compliance testing for samples of Binders and emulsions.
- Ensure laboratory and production facility compliance with NATA, and Department of Main Roads Construction Materials Testing Supplier Registration System.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Assist with the binder blend designs, research & development
- Assist Laboratory Foreman and Lab. Supervisor whilst ensuring all tests are reported through our reporting tool Qestlab effectively.
We are seeking either an experienced Lab Technician or self-starter wishing to gain experience within the Construction industry.
You will possess:
- Knowledge of laboratory and production facility calibration requirements.
- Binder testing laboratory experience, techniques, and accreditation (advantageous).
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Questlab.
- Demonstrated commitment to collaborative, ethical behaviour in a client-facing environment and a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrated skills in research, evaluation, the interpretation and delivery of data.
