Overview
Our client requires an experienced Combat Systems Engineer who can offer Engineering expertise for Explosive Ordnance (EO), Test & Evaluation (T&E), and Systems Engineering expertise, to support a major Defence project. As the System expert under the supervision of the Lead, your duties will involve supporting the system activities for the entire Combat Systems (CS).
This includes ensuring that the physical integration design process aligns with the warship EMP which meets the specified requirements, while maintaining consistency throughout the warship. Undertaking the physical integration design of combat systems, compartments, and support topside layout.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Assist in creating technical budgets for combat systems engineering.
* Generate system schematic drawings and cable schedules.
* You will be responsible for verifying and ensuring the availability of combat systems' physical installation data and constraints for the platform IPT.
* Undertake the physical integration design of combat systems, compartments, and support topside layout.
* Having experience with ASDEFCON program, as well as expertise in integrating communication systems, networks, navigation systems, and electronic warfare systems.
* Tasks will include designing, reviewing, and approving platform integration for new combat systems, as well as for system redesign and/or sub-system/component design.
Essential criteria
* 10 years + Combat Systems engineering experience.
* A relevant Engineering qualification.
* Previous Defence (ideally Maritime/land) experience.
* Previous leadership experience.
* Strong Stakeholder engagement experience.
* Strong communication skills.
* NV1 clearance ideally or be a citizen with the ability to gain security clearance.
