About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Personal Injury Lawyer to join our team. As a Legal Counsel, you will play a key leadership role within the team and be recognized as a subject matter expert.
You will manage a complex and varied caseload, contributing to both the operational and strategic success of our national practice. This role offers meaningful work across a range of jurisdictions, ideal for someone who enjoys the variety and challenge of working within multiple legal frameworks.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Manage a mixed common law and statutory benefits practice across NSW, ACT, and federal (Comcare) schemes.
* Deliver excellent client outcomes in complex and often litigated matters.
* Collaborate with senior practitioners, counsel, and external experts to resolve legal and technical issues.
* Maintain strong compliance and file management practices in line with National Practice Standards.
* Build trusted internal and external relationships, including with stakeholders and referring bodies.
* Contribute to team development, knowledge sharing, and profile-building activities.
* Support and mentor junior team members as a senior leader within the practice.
Requirements:
* 8+ years post-admission experience as a Personal Injury Lawyer.
* Sound technical experience and legal judgment, including the ability to analyze case viability, superior case management capability, and a consistent focus on achieving optimal outcomes for clients.
* Strong relationship-building skills across all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
* A solution-oriented mindset and sound problem-solving ability.
* A systematic and structured approach to legal practice.
* Effective planning and delivery of projects and case strategies.
* Strong initiative and the ability to work autonomously.
* Superior written and verbal communication skills.
* Technical and functional skills to support others across the team.
* A strong team player with a collaborative and client-first attitude.
