Job Description
The opportunity
We are currently seeking a Safety Advisor to join our site-based Health & Safety team.
You will provide frontline risk leadership by supporting supervisors, verifying critical controls, and ensuring the Mine Safety Management System is effectively implemented in the field. The role focuses on preventing harm through coaching, assurance, and timely response to safety issues, while contributing to a positive and learning‑focused safety culture across the Duketon Project.
This is a FIFO role, working on an 8:6 roster (ex-Perth).
The Main Responsibilities Of This Role Include
Conduct critical control verifications for Fatality Risk Standards and Principal Mining Hazards Participate in HIF audits, inspections, and assurance activities Identify emerging risks and support supervisors to implement controls Coach supervisors and crews in field leadership practices Support toolbox meetings and safety committees with meaningful risk conversations Promote psychological safety and speak up culture Deliver WHS training and competency refreshers Support onboarding and contractor mobilisation requirements Facilitate PEEPO and ICAM investigations Maintain MSMS documentation and registers Prepare safety performance reports and trend analysis Conduct drug and alcohol testing in accordance with site procedures
About You
Desired Skills and Experience
To Be Successful For This Role, You Will Have
Diploma of Work Health and Safety (Desirable) or (Working Towards) ICAM Lead investigator (or equivalent incident investigation training) Demonstrated experience applying WHS principles in a mining or high-risk environment Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical risk concepts into practical guidance for frontline teams using document useability principles Competent in using safety systems, databases, and digital tools to analyse trends and support decision making
Desirable
TAE40122 Cert IV in Training & Assessment HOP exposure Critical Control Verification experience
