Engineering Internship - Paid (Final-Year Students)
Opportunity
Vacvator is a pioneer in truck-mounted equipment solutions, specialising in the design and manufacture of vacuum excavation, dust suppression, and high-flow pipe jetting equipment. We are offering a paid, full-time internship (4–12 weeks) for final-year students studying any engineering discipline. This position is based in Goulburn, NSW.
Responsibilities
· D CAD part design and detailing, producing workshop-ready drawings and documentation.
· Support BOM management (structure, accuracy, and engineering change housekeeping).
· Assist with prototype builds, fit-ups, testing, and practical problem-solving with the workshop team.
· Support new product development and continuous improvement across our product range.
· Optional: contribute to a small internal software/automation mini-project depending on your skills.
Selection criteria
· Currently in your final year of an engineering degree (any discipline).
· Interest in practical engineering and manufacturing - seeing designs through to build.
· CAD/drafting experience (Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD or similar) is desirable; willingness to learn quickly is essential.
· Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and an organised approach to documentation.
· Relevant project examples/portfolio material (CAD screenshots, drawings, reports, GitHub) is a plus.
