Job Description
People Programs Associate Manager – Canberra location only. This role supports the delivery of talent, engagement and inclusion programmes across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding and engagement to leadership development, employee voice and recognition. The position requires strong organisational, adaptable and collaborative skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the implementation of people programmes, including planning, tracking and coordinating logistics.
* Build early‐career programmes aligned with the Canberra/SDC growth strategy and ongoing integration.
* Support the delivery of inclusion, safety and wellbeing programmes.
* Manage and coordinate employee recognition programmes.
* Contribute to employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives, supporting listening sessions, events and campaigns.
* Prepare internal communications, presentations and programme materials.
* Assist with gathering, analysing and reporting on programme data and feedback.
* Organise workshops, learning, leadership and engagement events.
* Assist in delivering communications and engagement materials for people‐related change initiatives.
* Partner closely with the People Programs Manager, HR Business Partners and other team members to ensure alignment across initiatives.
Key Requirements
* Experience in HR, employee engagement or related people‐focused roles, preferably with employee surveys, recognition or inclusion initiatives.
* Capability in designing, delivering and evolving early‐career programmes, ideally within Canberra.
* Strong programme and stakeholder management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Data literate and insight driven.
* Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively.
* Highly adaptable and proactive.
* Strong capability in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Experience with HR systems, survey tools or early‐careers platforms is advantageous.
* Strong customer‐focused mindset and passion for inclusive workplace culture.
Desirable Skills
* Understanding of Inclusion & Diversity landscape and early‐career pipelines.
* Familiarity with employee listening, engagement surveys or recognition platforms.
* Knowledge of global and Australian Inclusion & Diversity priorities and relevant regulatory or policy considerations.
* Experience with internal communication campaigns, engagement initiatives or change programmes.
* Experience applying change management principles or HR project coordination.
* Proven experience working across cross‐functional teams.
* Australian citizenship or ability to meet Australian Government security requirements.
