About Us An outstanding leadership opportunity has become available for an experienced Managing Lawyer with in the Family Law and Family Violence practice to lead a talented legal team.
This role will oversee day-to-day service delivery, provide supervision and strategic direction to a team of lawyers, and play a key role in organisational leadership.
It's ideal for a senior practitioner who is passionate about social justice, collaborative practice, and leading high-performing teams .
This is a full-time parental leave cover role until June **** with the possibility of extension .
Responsibilities Lead and manage the Family Law and Family Violence legal team, fostering excellence and collaboration.
Oversee legal service delivery, including supervision, risk management, rostering and compliance.
Provide high-level legal advice and casework in complex family law and family violence matters.
Drive service planning, reporting, and program oversight in line with strategic goals.
Contribute to leadership, strategic planning, and sector engagement activities.
Support community legal education, advocacy, and law reform initiatives.
Your Profile You're a strategic, experienced legal leader with a strong background in family law and family violence, and a passion for access to justice.
You will bring: At least 7 years' post-admission experience in family law and family violence matters.
Current practising certificate (eligible to supervise legal staff).
Proven leadership experience managing legal teams and services.
Strong advocacy, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Understanding of trauma-informed practice and a commitment to staff wellbeing.
Experience with service planning, compliance, and program oversight.
Commitment to social justice and equity.
