About your opportunity:
Registered Nurse / Permanent full-time / 7 positions available
The purpose of this position is to provide high quality, evidence-based nursing care to the people of Palm Island. This will include working in all areas of emergency and inpatient services.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
1. Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
2. Knowledge of legal and professional responsibilities.
3. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks.
4. High standard of written and oral communication skills within the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
5. Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
6. Ability to provide clinical education and support and demonstrate own ongoing professional development.
7. Ability to demonstrate competency as outlined in the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice.
Generous remuneration package value up to $121,464 p.a. comprising:
8. Salary range of $3171.90 to $4068.50 p.f. (Nurse Grade 5)
9. Annual leave with relevant leave loading
10. 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements:
11. Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
12. Proof of registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
13. Highly Desirable: Experience in Emergency Department and a current Adult Life Support certificate.
14. This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
15. Travel: Travel by light aircraft or ferry may be required from Townsville to Palm Island and return.
16. Accommodation: On-site single staff accommodation will be provided for the successful applicant.
17. Rural and Remote Incentive Package (RANIP): Successful applicants to this position may be eligible for RANIP.
