Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes to menu and presentation standards
- Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation across all services
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service, especially during peak times
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness at all times
- Assist with stock management, ordering, and inventory control
- Contribute to menu development, daily specials, and new ideas
- Support and mentor junior team members as required
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum qualification: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (mandatory)
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Hospitality/Management (desirable)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen (experience in Indian cuisine highly regarded)
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
