About the role
The Principal Application Developer will be responsible for designing, architecting, and developing end-to-end business solutions leveraging Microsoft 365, Power Platform, SharePoint Online, and Azure services. This role combines deep technical expertise with solution architecture, ensuring delivery of secure, scalable, and well-governed enterprise applications.
As the Principal Developer (M365) you will champion and implement best practice for the technical governance for M365 solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Architect and develop end-to-end M365 solutions that integrate SharePoint Online, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), and Azure resources such as Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Key Vault.
* Design and implement secure integration patterns between M365 and Azure components, ensuring compliance with organisational security and identity management standards.
* Lead the development of modern applications, automation workflows, and data integrations that enhance collaboration and productivity across the organisation.
* Define and apply best practices in security, performance, and maintainability for M365 and Azure-based solutions.
* Collaborate with architects, security teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
* Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to developers on M365 and Azure technologies.
* Stay current with emerging Microsoft cloud technologies, assessing their applicability and recommending adoption where appropriate.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience architecting and developing solutions that integrate M365, Power Platform, and SharePoint with Azure resources.
* Strong understanding of security design principles, including authentication, authorisation, data protection, and secure API integration.
* Expertise in Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), and Azure services.
* Experience with REST APIs, Graph API, and modern integration frameworks.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work across business and technical teams.
