We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilledMarket Gardenerto join our team. As a Market Gardener, you will be responsible for the cultivation of a variety of crops for sale at local markets and to local businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate, plant, and harvest a variety of crops using sustainable and organic farming practices
- Monitor crop growth and health, identifying and managing pests and diseases as necessary
- Coordinate and manage planting schedules to ensure a steady supply of fresh produce
- Operate and maintain farm equipment and tools
- Prepare produce for market, including washing, packing, and labeling
- Manage inventory and pricing for market sales
- Maintain and build relationships with customers and vendors
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in market gardening or a related field
- Knowledge of sustainable and organic farming practices
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment and tools
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
