The Role:
The Paediatric / Surgical Ward (Ward 6) at Mildura Base Public Hospital is a 24-bed unit, made up of 16 beds for adult surgical patients and 8 dedicated paediatric beds. The Paediatric Wing built in 2020/2021, is a state of the art facility designed for family centred carer and assessment, observation and treatment of our paediatric/neonatal patients.
Ward 6 is a friendly, welcoming team-based environment that strives for excellence in patient care that is delivered in line with the core values and strategic direction of the hospital. The ward works closely with the multiple disciplinary team and all departments for assessment, treatment and discharging planning of patients to create positive patient experiences. Ward 6 respectfully carers for a range of culturally diverse patients of all ages, conditions and diagnosis.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Relevant registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
* Minimum of 4 years post basic registration experience, including at least 3 years' experience in Paediatrics/Surgical environment
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in service development, problem solving and quality processes and activities.
* Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively build and support teamwork in an environment of change
