About the role
We are currently recruiting a Zone Substation Senior Electrical Technician, to join our Transmission Far North Coast team based in Lismore.
The Zone Substation Senior Electrical Technician is responsible for construction and maintenance of Zone Substations, inspecting, testing, and reporting the nature and condition of network asset and the installation commissioning and testing of associated Zone Substation and distribution equipment.
Key responsibilities
* Construction and Maintenance of Zone Substations
* Installation, commissioning and testing of associated Zone Substation and distribution equipment
* Carrying out switching operations associated with both high and low voltage Engineering Services
* Inspecting, testing, and reporting nature and condition of Network assets to maintain quality standards
* Accessing and using computerised systems to operate remote equipment
* Be available and participate in stand by and after hours duties
* Operating plant and equipment associated with Zone Substations in a safe manner
About You
You will be an experienced Zone Substation Electrician able to demonstrate practical application of the qualification for this role. You will have experience in complying with and promoting Occupational Health and Safety values, environmental needs, quality needs and in the practice of the technical aspects of the Zone Substation Senior Technician role. This position will involve travel, willingness to work away.
Mandatory Qualifications, Licences and Authorisations
* Current NSW Electricians Licence (Supervisors Certificate)
* Driver's licence
* General Construction Induction Training (white card)
Required Skills and Experience
* Diploma in ESI - Power System with preferred electives in Protection and Testing or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment
* Basic skills in computer operations
* Sound communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate electronically in writing and liaise with stakeholders and customers in an amicable manner.
