Bechtel is providing contract-management services across all disciplines to customers in Western Australia, supporting aviation, defence, and energy infrastructure capital works programmes. The role is part of an integrated team that works closely with customers to develop long-term relationships and build Bechtel's capabilities for future opportunities.
Job Summary
As a sustainability specialist, you will coordinate the integration of sustainability requirements into project-level documents, including design criteria, contract packages and contractor plans and submittals. You will support sustainability management, IS, GreenStar and similar rating delivery across multiple projects, and work with stakeholders to ensure sustainability targets are met.
Major Responsibilities
Provide support to the Sustainability Manager and team to integrate PAPL's broader sustainability commitments across the capital works portfolio.
Support communications, stakeholder engagement, data management, measurement and reporting of sustainability rating requirements.
Follow prescribed methods to monitor and review evidence collection and submission packages in accordance with rating system credit requirements.
Coordinate with others to monitor and facilitate contractor and consultant progress toward sustainability ratings and contributions to the PAPL sustainability program goals.
Organise or participate in meetings with project team members and contractors to monitor actions, ensure sustainability compliance and track progress of deliverables.
Track and report on progress and support preparation of monthly reports.
Prepare sustainability presentations, case studies, and materials for website content as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
University degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Management or Sustainability, with 2-3 years of experience (or 5-6 years of relevant work experience).
Familiarity with sustainability rating systems such as IS or GreenStar, professional accreditation a plus.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Relevant experience in sustainability, including prior involvement in workplace sustainability programs.
Data management and analysis skills.
Strong listening, oral and written communication and content development skills.
Ability to work collaboratively, take direction and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
Technical proficiency with common tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated positive, flexible attitude and willingness to take on diverse tasks.
