Senior Materials & Energy Systems Leader – National Aviation-Grade Engineering Programme (Flexible Location)
The working arrangement can be based in your home country (remote collaboration) or in China, depending on your preference and transition planning.
We are supporting a nationally backed, multi-year engineering programme focused on materials and energy subsystems for next-generation low-altitude air platforms, operating under aviation-grade reliability, safety, and lifecycle constraints.
The programme concentrates on advanced materials, energy storage and conversion systems, and their engineering validation at system level—rather than complete vehicles or short-term demonstrators. This is a rare opportunity for senior engineers and researchers to work on foundational technologies with long-term impact, spanning aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and energy systems.
What We Offer
A multi-year horizon (up to five years) designed to explore technical fit, contribution depth, and timing—no expectation of immediate relocation or commitment.
An environment where engineering judgement directly influences system-level decisions, not just task execution.
Access to data, facilities, and resources required for materials and energy system validation, scale-up, and long-term performance assessment.
Exposure to national-level, multi-sector engineering programmes, working on complex systems that bridge materials science, energy engineering, and aviation-grade requirements.
Who You Are
A senior engineer or researcher with experience in advanced materials, composites, polymers, high-temperature or high-reliability materials, battery systems, fuel cells, or energy-related subsystems.
Comfortable working at the system and engineering-validation level, beyond laboratory characterisation or short-term project milestones.
Experienced with long-term performance evaluation, safety, degradation, or reliability considerations under demanding or regulated environments.
Motivated by technical ownership and lasting impact, rather than narrowly defined roles or rapid delivery cycles.
Open to flexible engagement, including remote collaboration and gradual integration into a long-term programme.
Next Steps
This post is intended to connect with senior engineers and researchers who may be open to exploring alignment, rather than pursuing an immediate role change. We invite you to a brief 30-minute discussion to share programme context, exchange technical perspectives, and assess potential fit for future collaboration.
