Job Title: Principal Aboriginal Project Officer
About the Role:
This is a short-term contract opportunity within the Department of Human Services (DHS), working in the System Stewardship Directorate. The successful candidate will contribute to positive experiences and outcomes for children and families, while delivering modern programs and services that strengthen communities.
Key Responsibilities:
The Principal Aboriginal Project Officer will be accountable to the General Manager, System Stewardship for several key responsibilities including:
* Delivering the Child and Family Support System (CFSS) Aboriginal Governance and Accountability Project to ensure culturally safe and accountable work practices.
* Designing and implementing cultural governance mechanisms across Child and Family Support (CFS).
* Providing advice and project management to ensure CFS delivers on DHS commitments under Closing the Gap.
* Contributing to the identification, development, direction, and management of strategies, policy, and practice that support the implementation of quality services to Aboriginal children and families.
* SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF STRONG PARTNERSHIPS, CONNECTIONS, AND PRODUCTIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
* Be of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent.
* Hold a current Australian-issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
* Pass a National Police Check and an Employment-related Screening Check.
* Be willing to undertake some interstate and intrastate travel.
