EY-ROAM is a leading provider of electricity market modelling services in Australia and New Zealand, supplying evidence‐based insights to clients across the energy value chain.
This role is a hybrid position based in Perth, joining a high‐performing, market‐leading team that values collaboration, a growth mindset, and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
Join a fast‐paced consulting environment where you will:
* Execute and deliver a broad range of market modelling projects, providing evidence‐based insights to enable informed decision‐making.
* Support the development of client relationships and become a trusted advisor to key stakeholders in the energy sector.
* Work on projects such as: developing electricity network infrastructure plans to coordinate generation and network development.
* Assess the impacts on the grid of major transmission network augmentations based on extensive electricity market models.
* Support the development, financing, acquisition, sale and valuation of grid‐scale batteries, pumped hydro, solar farms, wind farms, and thermal generation.
* Undertake market due diligence and modelling, including forecasting electricity and capacity prices, marginal loss factors, generation curtailment and frequency market outcomes.
* Inform the development of government and energy market policy.
Skills and Attributes for Success
* Tertiary education in engineering, mathematics, economics, physics, or computer science.
* A strong understanding of electricity market concepts, including regulatory frameworks, market operations and frequency markets (familiarity with Australian markets is especially valuable).
* Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, able to convey meaningful insights both written and verbally.
* A growth mindset, openness to new challenges and a collaborative working style.
* High numeracy and ability, or willingness, to manipulate, analyse and interpret large data sets efficiently.
* High computer literacy; proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Python, SQL and other data analysis and AI tools.
