Legal Expert Job Description
CQUniversity is seeking a qualified Legal Professional to join their Corporate Services Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering timely, practical legal advice and managing complex legal matters.
This role involves working closely with faculties and divisions to proactively manage legal risk and enable confident, informed decision-making. As a key member of the Office of the University Solicitor team, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding CQUniversity's operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in large or complex organisations, strong proficiency in interpreting legislation, drafting contracts, and representing clients in legal proceedings. A confident and collaborative approach, combined with excellent communication skills, is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver timely, practical legal advice on complex matters
* Manage and coordinate legal projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
* Collaborate with faculties and divisions to identify and mitigate legal risks
Requirements:
* Admitted as a Solicitor in Australia, with at least five years' post-admission experience
* Current unregistered Queensland Law Society Practising Certificate, or eligibility to obtain one
* Strong knowledge of Australian commercial and administrative law, including regulatory frameworks and evolving government policy
