An exciting opportunity to join a leading international renewable energy developer as a Project Development Manager, or Senior Project Development Manager, based on experience.
Location
Ideally hybrid in Melbourne office or Brisbane Office.
Role
Land Acquisition & Site Origination
* Lead and support land acquisition activities for renewable energy projects across Australia.
* Identify and assess suitable sites, considering land availability, environmental constraints, planning regulations, grid access, and logistics.
* Conduct comprehensive site feasibility assessments in collaboration with internal technical and development teams.
* Lead negotiations with landowners, including option agreements, leases, and purchase arrangements.
* Manage land-related due diligence processes, coordinating with legal, technical, and environmental advisors.
Project Development & Stakeholder Management
* Support the progression of projects from early-stage development through to advanced development milestones.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, local communities, councils, and relevant government authorities.
* Work closely with internal teams including project development, legal, technical, and senior management to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Provide regular and accurate updates on land acquisition progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
* Contribute to project timelines, development strategies, and decision-making processes.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in land acquisition or project development within renewable energy development.
* Solid understanding of Australian planning, environmental, permitting, and regulations.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, legal, and commercial teams.
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Environmental Studies, or similar).
* At least a few years of relevant experience in renewables
