Mechanical Tradesperson – Rosebery, Tasmania
The role is based at the MMG Rosebery underground polymetallic base metal mine located in Rosebery, Tasmania. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will ensure maintenance tasks and activities are carried out in accordance with planned maintenance schedules and undertake production activities as required.
Key Accountabilities
* Maintain all areas of the fixed plant including crushing, grinding, flotation and filtration; this includes servicing, fault finding, repair and commissioning.
* Identify root cause of failure and generate improvement strategies.
* Identify and evaluate non-conformances and provide support to develop corrective actions for continuous improvement to plant operations, safety, maintenance, equipment utilisation and effectiveness.
* Assist with the implementation of management systems for processes, with the objective of minimising process variation and exceeding customer requirements.
* Contribute to the development of surface preventative maintenance schedules.
* Carry out asset repairs and upgrades daily and in shutdowns, particularly with issues that affect metallurgical performance.
* Use a computerised maintenance management system (SAP).
* Support Plant Outages as required.
* Actively participate in the Maintenance team to support and promote agreed decisions.
* Contribute positively to promote an accountable culture within the mill maintenance team.
Qualifications & Competencies
* Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification (Essential).
* Forklift Licence (Desirable); EWP & CN Crane Tickets (Desirable).
* Senior First Aid Certificate (Desirable).
* Driver's licence.
* Basic fabrication/welding skills (Desirable).
* Minimum of 3 years post‐Trade qualification experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
* Demonstrated experience maintaining and processing fixed plant equipment, including diagnosis and fault finding.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
* Excellent problem‐solving skills, time management and attention to detail.
* Experience using SAP (Desirable).
* Proven commitment to safe work practices, with the ability to identify and address unsafe practices.
