About the Role Bendigo Health is seeking two Deputy Chief Medical Officers to join the Office of the Chief Medical Officer and play a key leadership role in strengthening clinical governance, medical workforce leadership, professional standards, patient safety and regional health system improvement.
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Deputy CMO(s) will work closely with senior leaders across Bendigo Health and external stakeholders to support the delivery of safe, high-quality and person-centred care across the organisation.
The Deputy CMO(s) will work collaboratively with each other and deputise for the Chief Medical Officer when required, ensuring continuity of leadership, accountability and oversight across the Office of the CMO.
This is an outstanding opportunity for experienced or emerging medical leaders who are passionate about clinical governance, medical workforce development, regional health care and values-based leadership.
About You You will be a values-driven medical leader with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, professional standards and regional health care.
MBBS or equivalent qualification registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, or significant progression towards FRACMA, will be highly regarded.
Experience in medical management, clinical governance or medical workforce leadership.
Strong communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
The ability to manage complex and sensitive workforce, clinical, governance and medico-legal matters.
Demonstrated capacity to influence change, build partnerships and support a culture of safety, professionalism and continuous improvement.
A collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively across clinical, operational and corporate teams.
A commitment to regional health care and the role Bendigo Health plays across the Loddon Mallee region.

Your New Division Clinical Governance is focused on upholding patient safety and a high quality of service through leadership, quality improvements, clinical performance, risk management, professionalism and excellent patient care. The division collaborates to provide high quality clinical governance support and advice, both internally and when supporting regional Health Service Partners.
The Chief Medical Officer has responsibility for maintaining full compliance with accreditation requirements and delivering improvements through the organisation’s response to recommendations arising from both national and Victorian quality and safety reviews. The Office of the CMO oversees incident reporting, investigation of adverse patient events, and complaints regarding clinicians. The CMO provides leadership and support to the medical workforce to ensure staff feel empowered to provide high-quality healthcare.
