A leading private developer with a significant pipeline of high‐density residential projects is looking to appoint a Project Director, or experienced Senior Development Manager to oversee two key projects across metropolitan Sydney. This is a rare senior opportunity to lead complex, city‐shaping projects within a progressive, well‐capitalised business.
The successful candidate will step into a pivotal leadership role, guiding multiple projects through planning, design, procurement and delivery - ensuring commercial outcomes, design excellence and coordinated execution across the full lifecycle. The role offers a high level of autonomy, direct access to senior leadership and genuine workplace flexibility.
The Opportunity
You will oversee three major residential projects at varying stages, from advanced planning through early construction. Working closely with internal development, design, construction and capital teams, you will lead project strategy, stakeholder engagement and decision‐making across all phases.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of major residential apartment projects
* Drive project direction from planning and design through procurement and delivery
* Oversee financial performance, feasibility updates and value optimisation initiatives
* Lead consultant teams and senior project partners to achieve coordinated outcomes
* Guide procurement strategies and support delivery teams through early works and construction
* Present recommendations to senior leadership and influence project‐wide decision‐making
* Maintain strong relationships with authorities, stakeholders and internal units
* Contribute to process development and cultural leadership as the business continues to scale
About You
* 10+ years' experience in development or project leadership, ideally within high‐density residential or mixed‐use
* Proven track record leading complex projects through planning, design and delivery
* Strong commercial acumen and confidence in financial analysis and feasibility oversight
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement, consultant leadership and cross‐functional coordination
* Structured, proactive and able to navigate ambiguity in a fast‐moving environment
* Strong communication and executive‐level presentation skills
