About the Role

We are seeking a business systems specialist to contribute the development, support and optimisation of a modern HR and payroll environment built on Workday for HR and Aurion for payroll.

This rare greenfield opportunity offers scope to shape system design, optimise business processes, and establish a high-performing digital foundation for our people systems.

As Business Systems Specialist (HRIS), you will play a key role in ensuring both systems operate efficiently and continue to evolve. Working closely with business owners, functional analysts, and vendors, you will help manage integrations between Workday and Aurion, support users, and identify opportunities for improvement that deliver tangible business benefits.

Key responsibilities include:

* Partnering with business owners and analysts to ensure reporting accuracy, integration reliability, and architectural compliance
* Leading the design, planning, and implementation of system and process improvements that drive efficiency and business uplift
* Managing vendor relationships and providing advanced system administration support, including patching, upgrades, incident response, and new functionality
* Coordinating system testing, documentation, and maintenance to support continuous improvement and prevent service disruption
* Developing and maintaining documentation that reflects current configuration, integrations, and workflows
* Supporting user acceptance testing and enhancement planning through collaboration with SMEs and other business areas
* Partnering with subject matter experts and stakeholders to plan and execute enhancements and new functionality

About You

You are a collaborative problem solver with strong technical and analytical skills. You thrive in dynamic environments and take pride in improving systems, streamlining important processes, and delivering reliable business outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

* Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business, Human Resource Management, or a related field, or at least five years of equivalent experience
* Experience supporting Workday, Aurion, or similar HR and payroll systems
* Demonstrated experience in systems design, analysis, upgrades, and lifecycle management
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently under pressure
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with staff, vendors, and stakeholders
* Sound knowledge of system administration, testing, documentation, integration management, and report development
* Ability to prepare and maintain documentation such as requirements, functional designs, and testing procedures

Benefits

This is a permanent position offering a total remuneration package of $118,000, including 12.5% superannuation. After 12 months, you can contribute up to an additional 6% of base salary to superannuation.
