The Company is a national civil construction firm well established on the east coast of Australia. The team consists of over 100 employees across sites and 10 in the head office.
You will report directly to the Director and will advise on HR issues. You will have several staff reporting to you. The company is gradually growing, with a reputation for quality work. The Director adopts a hands-off management style, allowing you to operate independently.
Ideally, candidates will possess a Diploma or Degree in HR from a college or university. A minimum of 5 years of solid HR experience is required, preferably within the construction or related industry, with exposure to blue-collar workers. This role suits an energetic HR Advisor looking to advance or a seasoned HR Manager seeking a new challenge.
The expected remuneration range is $130,000 - $160,000 plus superannuation and discretionary bonus.
This HR role includes:
1. Updating company HR policies to ensure relevance
2. Administering and implementing the HR Manual
3. Coordinating with OH&S personnel
4. Managing the Enterprise Agreement (EBA) for field staff and the company
5. Overseeing visa applications for overseas applicants as needed
6. Monitoring the payroll process (managed by others)
7. Coordinating staff training for VOC verification of competencies for plant and machinery operators
8. Occasional travel
9. Keeping the Director/Manager informed on HR issues
10. Participating in the recruitment process
11. Familiarity with the blue-collar work environment in construction
