The Operations Supervisor position is responsible for supervising all aspects of the WaterCorp Operations at the Welshpool Depot including maintenance and service resources and functions to maintain the on-road haulage fleet in a suitable condition to ensure Bis Industries can provide a safe, reliable, quality transport service to the Water Corporation.
Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations, the Operations Supervisor will lead, oversee, and coordinate, Team Leaders and drivers to deliver a safe and quality service to the Water Corporation. This must be always acting with respect for the community and environment and fully striving to achieve zero harm.
This position is a Monday to Friday role with an element of on call and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily operations during your assigned shift.
**Primary duties will include**:
- Demonstrate commitment to our goal of Zero Harm.
- Supervise all health and safety aspects of the plant and personnel and ensure safety and sustainability management plans are carried out effectively.
- Lead, oversee and coordinate operations, employees to deliver a quality service to the client.
- Ensure all activities achieve standards as defined by the Site Manager with respect to productivity performance, fleet management and cost control.
- Daily Pre-Start held re Safety and Production targets.
- Ensure accurate, up to date production information is provided to management and administration.
- Maintain and develop effective relationship with all stakeholders internally and externally.
- Drive engagement and performance of our operational teams and suppliers
- Daily rostering, crib and fatigue breaks managed effectively.
- Efficiency and effectiveness of Team Leader, Workshop personnel & Drivers.
- Performance and development issues dealt with swiftly and fairly; PDRs completed on time and effectively.
**The successful applicant will possess the following skills / knowledge / qualifications / attributes**:
- Current MC Drivers Licence
- Cert IV in Frontline Management (preferred but not essential)
- Experience in logistics, bulk haulage, and intermediate mechanical knowledge in an operational role.
- Supervisory experience within similar operations.
- Heavy transport industry experience, as appropriate.
- Working knowledge of OHS legislation.
- Working knowledge of relevant road rules and legislation.
- Good communication and people engagement skills (employees, customers, others).
- Good people management skills.
- Good numeracy skills.
- MS Office technology.
- Positive attitude to safety
