About the role

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to deliver accurate and timely processing of the monthly payroll for approximately 1,400 employees. In this role, you'll work closely with the Senior Payroll Officer and support the Payroll Manager in managing payroll operations and compliance. Your focus will be on precision, meeting strict deadlines and providing exceptional service to employees, while contributing to the smooth running of payroll activities across the organisation.

You'll join a collaborative payroll team that values accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. We work closely together to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional service. Our culture is supportive and inclusive, with a strong focus on teamwork, open communication, and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the processing of the monthly pay run in collaboration with the Senior Payroll Officer
* Assist with day-to-day payroll activities and end-of-month processes
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
* Administer salary packaging arrangements
* Complete payroll tax and superannuation payments
* Process new starters, terminations, and payroll adjustments
* Manage Centrelink Paid Parental Leave and Workers Compensation payments
* Handle employee payroll queries promptly and professionally
* Calculate redundancies accurately
* Support broader team initiatives and additional tasks as required
* Monitor daily HRIS integrations

What We're Looking For:

* Minimum 5 years' full-function payroll experience across all states and territories
* Experience with aPay highly desirable
* Workday HRIS and integration experience highly desirable
* High degree of adaptability and ability to learn new systems quickly
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* High level of confidentiality and integrity
* Intermediate Excel skills
* Strong customer focus and ability to meet strict deadlines
