School Counsellor (Full‐time, Ongoing)

Location: Lewisham | Employment Type: Full‐time (ongoing) | Department: School Counselling.

Role Overview

Our School Counsellor roles offer a unique environment to refine your skills, working in a small team with ongoing support and professional development from a dedicated Manager. We are seeking an experienced practitioner passionate about working with students. The presentations that we deal with are often complex, so a level of experience and maturity is essential.

Responsibilities
* Provide individual and group therapeutic counselling services, referrals for students and advice to school staff.
* Provide services to the school community, including workshop/education sessions for students, parents and staff.
* Liaise with other agencies and external services where appropriate.
* Use CMIS to manage all reporting requirements, case notes, assessments and case plans.
* Deliver group work and presentations, and develop and deliver social/emotional education to staff and parents.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA), full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or be a Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) clinical counsellor.
* Minimum two years' experience post qualifying, providing counselling services addressing emotional and/or behavioural needs to children, adolescents, families and at‐risk students.
* School counselling experience desirable, but not essential.
* Knowledge of current NSW Child Protection Legislation.
* Knowledge of child/adolescent development and mental health issues.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with a team and engage with multiple stakeholders.
* Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse clients.
* Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage a high‐volume caseload through a solution‐focused lens.
