This role develops and maintains advanced Optimisation models, analytics solutions and Python‑based pipelines to support fibre rollout planning, investment prioritisation and capital efficiency.It shapes strategic planning tools and commercial deployment decisions, leads cost‑optimisation initiatives, delivers industry and economic insights, and oversees business case development for major programs. The role also mentors team members, influences cross‑functional decision‑making and contributes to the broader strategic direction of the Commercial & Strategic Network Investment team.**A bit about you**The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in mathematical optimisation, supported by an advanced quantitative degree with hands‑on experience developing and deploying complex optimisation models in real‑world environments. They are highly proficient in Python, skilled with leading optimisation libraries and solvers, and confident working with large datasets to solve intricate commercial and operational challenges.They also offer strong financial modelling capability, business case development experience, and a track record of delivering strategic insights—ideally within telco or infrastructure. Mastery of analytics and reporting tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI and Auto Insights is essential, along with exceptional communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
