Job Description
John Paul College, in partnership with SchoolHouse, invites applications for the position of Recruitment Officer, a newly created role that represents a genuine opportunity to shape how one of Queensland's largest independent co-educational schools attracts and welcomes its people.
This key role will work in close collaboration with leaders and managers across all departments to identify current and future workforce needs, develop proactive recruitment strategies, and deliver a seamless, end-to-end recruitment process that reflects the College's commitment to professionalism, efficiency, and excellence.
Located in Daisy Hill, Queensland, John Paul College has more than 2,500 students from ELC to Year 12. The College prides itself on developing ethical, creative and service‐oriented thinkers who thrive in an increasingly complex global environment, grounded in Christian Ecumenical values welcoming all faiths and backgrounds.
Recruitment Officer
Human Resources
Reports to: Head of HR
Commence: March 2026
At its heart, The Recruitment Officer is a relationships‐based position. This role works alongside hiring managers and senior leaders across every area of the College, from academic departments to operational teams, providing expert guidance, practical coordination, and a consistently high standard of candidate care. The successful candidate will need the credibility to advise confidently at a senior level, alongside the genuine understanding that this role exists to support and enable others, not to own the outcome.
Importantly, this is a hands‐on position. Day‐to‐day involvement in the full recruitment lifecycle from briefing and advertising through to offer and onboarding is the core of this role.
What will set the right candidate apart is a genuine commitment to candidate experience. Every written communication, every phone conversation, every interaction a prospective employee has with JPC should reflect professionalism, warmth, and care. This role is, in many ways, the first impression the College makes on the people it hopes to attract and that matters deeply to them.
The successful candidate will be joining a HR and Payroll team that takes its work seriously, enjoys a good laugh along the way, and understands that the relationships within the team matter just as much as the ones they build across the wider College community.
Key Responsibilities
* Staff Recruitment, Onboarding, Orientation and Induction
* Workforce Planning and Recruitment Strategy
* Candidate and Stakeholder Experience
* Compliance and General Administration
* Online Learning and Staff Training Content
* General Human Resource Support
Candidates who have previous experience in a recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR coordination role, with experience in an education-based environment will be looked upon favourably.
JPC are seeking someone who understands that working in a school community is different. The College's values of Mutual Respect, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence are not aspirational statements, they are expected to be visible in the way this role operates every day.
If you are looking for a transactional HR coordination role, this is not it. If you are looking for a role where your work contributes to something larger, and where the quality of what you do genuinely shapes the community around you, the team at SchoolHouse would love to hear from you.
