About the Role
The Solution Architect role is a key position within the IT Unit. The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and delivering effective technology solutions that align with UTS's strategic goals and enterprise architecture framework. This role requires a deep understanding of business requirements, technical expertise, and the ability to translate them into scalable and robust solutions.
A Day in the Life of a Solution Architect at UTS
The architectural landscape at UTS is broad, complex and quickly evolving. Solution Architects will typically be aligned to particular business-focused or architecture-focused domains (e.g. business, information, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud, security etc). For the currently advertised role, the position holder will be embedded within the Enterprise platforms area which supports the core business platforms of the University. Key technologies for this area are outlined below. While it is not essential to be an expert in all these technologies, familiarity with some of them is beneficial:
* Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud (Digital engagement)
* Optimisely (Digital experience platform)
* ServiceNow (Service Management)
* Microsoft 365 platform (Digital workplace)
* Protecht, Riskware (Risk management)
* Boomi, AWS, Kafka, Denodo (Integration platforms)
* Workday (ERP)
Communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills are just as important as your technical knowledge.

About You
As the Solution Architect, you will have:
* Proven experience working as a Solution Architect, Technical Lead or in a similar role is valuable, particularly in complex organisational settings.
* An understanding of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), modelling techniques and solution design methodologies. Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, SAFe, or similar are a plus but not required.
* Technical knowledge in areas such as business applications, integration, information and data management, security or infrastructure.
* Experience in designing and implementing solutions using industry-standard technologies and platforms.
* Proficiency in creating architectural artifacts, such as architecture models, specifications, and design patterns.
* Awareness of security and compliance considerations in solution architecture.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex requirements and translate them into practical solution architectures.
* Interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with diverse teams.
* Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional agile teams.

A competitive and comprehensive remuneration package will be offered.
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.
