This is a senior role focused on designing and delivering commercial strategies that ensure value for money, manage risk, and support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure and strategic initiatives.
This role suits a commercially astute professional who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing stakeholders and structuring commercial arrangements that deliver measurable, profitable outcomes.
The Role
Reporting to the Group Manager of Commercial & Procurement, you will work closely with commercial, procurement & project teams and the wider executive leadership team.
Crucial to your success will be your ability to implement strong commercial strategy, provide support to the relevant stakeholders throughout the contract lifecycle, and ensure strong governance and probity across key strategic projects & commercial agreements.
You will:
* Develop and deliver commercial and procurement strategies for major infrastructure projects
* Design supplier contract models and commercial frameworks that achieve value-for-money outcomes
* Lead complex commercial negotiations and contract execution for strategic initiatives
* Provide commercial advice and influence senior stakeholders across project teams
* Ensure strong governance, probity and compliance across procurement and contracting activities
* Monitor supplier performance, manage contractual risk and resolve commercial issues in collaboration with legal and procurement teams
About You
You are a commercially minded professional who understands how to structure complex agreements, influence stakeholders and deliver commercially sound outcomes in a governance-focused environment.
You will bring
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commercial Law, Project Management or a related field
* Extensive experience developing commercial strategies and contract frameworks
* Strong background in commercial management - Pre-Contract & Post-Contract
* Proven capability negotiating high-value contracts and commercial partnerships
* Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of risk, governance and probity
* The ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across large projects
* Experience leading teams and guiding complex problem solving
Highly regarded
* Postgraduate qualifications in business, supply chain or commercial law
* Experience within utilities, infrastructure, government or other regulated environments
* Exposure to large-scale project delivery or infrastructure programs
* Experience coaching or mentoring commercial and/or procurement professionals
