The Position
As a key member of the Executive Leadership team, the General Counsel contributes to enterprises strategy and operations on legal, corporate governance and regulatory matters, enabling the delivery of safe, ethical, and sustainable health care to communities across Australia.
This newly created role offers the opportunity to play a key role as an in-house advisor, ensuring Ochre's activities, growth initiatives, and clinical operations comply with all relevant laws and regulations, and that risks are identified and effectively managed. The position will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders offering counsel across a range of complex matters spanning commercial, corporate, employment, and regulatory law.
To be successful in the role you will have a reputation as a strategic thinker, demonstrating strong commercial acumen and exceptional communication and negotiation capabilities. As an experienced legal advisor and executive leader, you will possess the ability to openly advise at Board level on legal matters and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. This role is suited to candidates with a minimum 10 years' post-admission experience, including significant in-house or senior private practice experience that has also extended to company secretarial responsibilities. Ideally you may also draw on your previous experience in the healthcare, primary care or adjacent sectors.
