Overview of the Role
This position is for a Physiotherapist who will be responsible for providing clinical management for Emergency Department secondary contact patients, orthopaedic and plastics patients.
The Physiotherapist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, and therapeutic services to optimise patient care and maximise function.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide clinical management for Emergency Department secondary contact patients, orthopaedic and plastics patients.
* Assessment, planning, and treatment including education for Emergency Department secondary contact patients, orthopaedic and plastics inpatients.
* Communicate assessment and treatment outcomes to nursing, medical, and other Allied Health staff via documentation and handovers.
* Advise on the care of orthopaedic inpatients in outlying wards when requested.
* Participate in performance management as required.
* Provide supervision for other weekend physiotherapy staff and Allied Health Assistants, as required.
* Ensure accurate handover information for ongoing physiotherapy management for all patients.
* Ensure continuous Quality Improvement through high-quality work practices.
* Participate in department quality improvement activities that involve the weekend service.
* Active participation in professional ongoing education and review of current literature.
* Perform duties of the position to the best of their ability and to a standard acceptable to the hospital.
* Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, bylaws, and directions.
