About the Role
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to manage and maintain Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, support virtualisation environments, and ensure network stability and security. You'll work across a broad tech stack including Cisco, Fortinet, VMware, and Veeam, supporting simulation integration and Defence‑grade infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer Windows Server 2022 and RHEL 8 systems.
* Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and system hardening.
* Configure and support Hyper‑V and VMware environments.
* Maintain Veeam Backup & Replication and disaster recovery planning.
* Monitor and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, and FortiGate firewalls.
* Automate tasks using PowerShell and Bash scripting.
* Provide Tier 2 / 3 support and collaborate with vendors and stakeholders.
Required Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in systems administration.
* Strong background in Windows and / or Linux (RHEL) environments.
* Hands‑on experience with Cisco networking, FortiGate firewalls, and virtualisation platforms.
* Solid understanding of AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
* Exposure to cybersecurity practices and Defence ICT standards.
* Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
* NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory).
* Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, Cisco, Fortinet, Veeam, CompTIA) highly regarded.
What's on Offer
* 8‑month contract – end date of 30th June 2026
* $700–$800 per day (negotiable)
* Based in Potts Point, NSW
