About the Role:

Take charge of a critical function, leading a skilled team while having the autonomy to shape workshop operations, implement improvements, and drive performance outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee our Port Hedland operations, ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest standard and available to meet the demands of projects across the region.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the workshop, including team leadership, maintenance scheduling, and plant availability. You will manage resources, drive safety and compliance, and play a hands-on role in delivering reliable equipment to support our hire and construction client.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily workshop operations including maintenance scheduling, work prioritisation, and labour allocation.

Ensure plant and equipment is maintained, repaired and delivered to meet hire and project schedules.

Monitor and report on workshop financial performance including cost control, utilisation, and productivity.

Lead and develop a team of tradespeople and apprentices, building a high-performance culture.

Maintain robust plant and inventory management systems to support asset tracking and availability.

Drive compliance with WHS legislation, site procedures, risk assessments, and safe work practices.

Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Provide regular operational and asset performance updates to the Senior Leadership Team.

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience managing a workshop or service department in the plant hire or construction industry.

Sound understanding of mobile plant maintenance, compliance, and hire fleet operations.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and motivate a team.

Familiarity with asset management software and tools such as Microsoft Office, Fleet or Maintenance Management Systems (e.g.Cloud Con).

A proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Excellent communication and client service skills
