Our client is a large values-focused Federal Government Agency seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to deliver end-to-end machine learning outcomes in an AWS environment.
This is a hands‐on role for someone who can hit the ground running.
Development is in Python, with a strong focus on NLP and Generative AI, plus production deployment and monitoring.
* Australian Citizenship required (MANDATORY - Federal Government).
* Highly flexible hybrid work arrangement
Key focus areas:
* Build, train, deploy and monitor ML models in production (end-to-end lifecycle).
* NLP delivery (commercial experience required) and Generative AI/LLM use cases.
* Predictive modelling and advanced analytics to solve complex business problems.
* Work with stakeholders to translate requirements into delivered outcomes.
Must have:
* 4+ years commercial experience as a Data Scientist.
* Strong Python.
* Demonstrated NLP delivery experience.
* AWS experience (must‐have).
* Software engineering fundamentals: Git/source control + CI/CD.
* Experience deploying and monitoring ML models (MLOps mindset).
* Growth mindset and strong communication.
Nice to have:
* Project management experience (scope to take on some PM responsibilities).
