About the role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll work alongside civil, electrical, and geotechnical teams and liaise with contractors and stakeholders. The role involves technical design, constructability reviews, and design leadership across projects ranging from substations and roads to battery storage facilities. You'll balance hands-on design with mentoring and guiding engineers, providing both technical oversight and project-facing engagement.
Duties
* Lead detailed structural design including piling, foundations, steel and concrete structures
* Review design calculations, drawings, and construction documentation to Australian standards
* Mentor and support engineers and designers, providing solutions and technical direction
* Participate in constructability and design reviews, advising on optimisation and compliance
* Work with contractors and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
Skills/experience
* Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, with CPEng (or working towards)
* Strong structural engineering background with renewable/HV infrastructure exposure
* Expertise in piling, foundations, and structural works for BESS, substations, and bridges
* Strong capability in AutoCAD and structural design software
* Ability to engage with stakeholders, find solutions, and mentor teams effectively
