Assist the Senior Manager and the Business Group to build strong Crop Protection business cases nationally and regionally that create enduring profitability for Australian grain growers. Ensure effective, efficient and compliant contract management that aligns with GRDC's vision, values and strategic goals by effectively managing, people, budget, and technological resources.
- Supporting the group to identify national strategic R&D requirements in Crop Protection reducing the impact of cropping weeds.
- Leading the development of R&D business cases that address national and regional cropping weed constraints that impact growers.
- Responsible to ensure IP registers are established, required sub-contractor arrangements finalised and potential alterations or special conditions to the Agreement are developed only where necessary to deliver project outcomes and outputs and with the approval of the GRDC legal group.
- Responsible for facilitating the Weed Science R&D field with diverse stakeholders to reach an optimal outcome for growers.
- Leverage of stakeholders to provide expert technical advice to Senior Managers on Weed Science R&D to assist Senior Managers to develop the most appropriate technical responses to regional, national, and international requirements, but also fulfil GRDC corporate objectives.
- Proactively identifying project issues and appropriately managing them to the satisfaction of stakeholders and GRDC's business goals; monitor, measure, and report on the performance of the Weed Science R&D field.
**The Successful Applicant**:
To thrive in this role, it is essential that applicants possess a strong background in the National Grains industry, specifically in Weeds Research, Development, and Extension (RD&E).
- Demonstrated experience in project negotiation, facilitation, and management in a relevant industry (5+ years' desirable)
- Proven experience coaching, mentoring, and developing teams
- Proven understanding of commercial principles including finance, brand management, IP management, licensing, and deal development
- Highly developed presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to influence, motivate and develop others
- Strong analytical skills and the capacity to leverage off external expertise and think strategically, including the ability to provide sound project and issue advice
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Ability to synthesise information and provide a summary and recommended options.
***Mandatory Requirements**:
- Demonstrated minimum 5 years sound knowledge of related industry experience in the Weed Science R&D field.
- Must be prepared to travel as and when required
- Must be willing to undergo all Pre-employment Medical checks
- Must be an Australian Citizen
