About The Role
Student Support Services works with schools and preschools to provide support to assist them in meeting the needs of children and students with additional needs. The Speech Pathology Assistant supports the Student Support Services speech pathology team in the delivery of services to referred children and students with a diverse range of speech, language and/or communication needs, and their education support staff and families. The Speech Pathology Assistant, under the direction and supervision of a Speech Pathologist, delivers a range of screening and interventions in preschools and schools. Duties pertaining to the role are clearly and specifically directed by the speech pathologist with clearly demarcated work instructions.

By joining our dedicated Speech Pathology team at the Gawler Office, where you will play a vital role in and contributing to the seamless operation of our team. This position offers the unique opportunity to work across both large, dynamic metro schools and preschools, as small country schools across the Barossa and Lower Mid North. Qualifications
Desirable: Certificate in Disability Support/ Disability or working towards completion of a degree or equivalent for graduate entry to the speech pathology profession.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
OPS2 $58,709 - $63,154 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%). Will be adjusted to actual hours worked.
