An experienced Social Strategy Program Manager required!
**Your new company**
This Local Government based in Western Sydney is a dynamic organisation seeking a Program Manager to lead their Social Strategy team on a permanent full time basis.
**Your new role**
You will lead and inspire the Social Strategy team to address challenging social issues through an evidence-based approach, researching, engaging, and supporting effective responses which will guide staff across many areas of Council to implement measurable and deliverable projects responsive to community needs. You will:
- leverage your experience in social policy and community engagement to undertake social research to identify social and demographic trends to understand community needs
- formulate responses to complex social issues within a local government context and develop policy that promotes community wellbeing
- be responsible for cultivating a positive team culture by supporting staff to respond to new and emerging challenges in an innovative manner
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will:
- have tertiary qualifications in one or more of the following areas or equivalent experience - Social Policy, Community Engagement, Community Development, Cultural Development, Leadership
- demonstrated strong engagement and negotiation skills with various levels of stakeholders including community/cultural organisations, state agencies, and the community
- demonstrated ability to lead the design, delivery, and measurement of social justice programs
- demonstrated ability to lead, support, and manage dynamic and diverse teams to delivery programs and services to achieve organisational goals
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- extensive work experience in policy, strategy, and program development
