SALARY: $95,999 - 123,593 p.a. + Super + Leaseback

Location: Oran Park Administration Building - 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park 2570
This is a grade range position, therefore in accordance with qualifications, accreditation, experience and demonstrated skills, the prospective employee will be assessed between Grade 15 to 17.

Camden Council is looking for Land Development Engineer to join our busy Engineering Certification team. Using your sound knowledge of civil engineering you will assess development applications, carry out inspections and issue certificates for development throughout the LGA. Using your strong customer focus and communication skills, you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of successful development outcomes for the community.

Essential:
* Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, acceptable as corporate member to the Institute of Engineers, Australia
* Good understanding of urban design including stormwater, on-site detentions, bio-retention basins, roads, transport and environmental practice
* Demonstrated experience in the assessment of engineering plans relating to roads and drainage construction
* Strong customer/community service focus
* Demonstrated experience in the inspection of construction works
* Excellent communication skills, written and oral with an ability to relate well to internal and external customers and the community
* Capacity to make decisions in circumstances where there are competing needs
* High level negotiation and dispute resolution skills
* Ability to work in a team environment
Desirable:
* Broad and specific understanding of EPA Act, Local Government Act, and Roads Act
* Ability to write reports on various proposals
* Current WHS General Induction Certificate (White Card)
