The Senior Guidance Officer plays a key role in the region's delivery of guidance services. The role is line managed by the Deputy Principal Education Officer: Student Services.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and maintain the provision of professional development related to guidance and counselling skills.
Provide direct guidance services to students as determined through consultation with Principals.
Work with Principals and school-based guidance officers to ensure effective guidance and counselling services for students.
Coordinate and support guidance and counselling services in schools in consultation with Principals.
Develop and implement a system of supervision, including psychoeducational, personal, career, and behaviour management interventions, in collaboration with Principals.
Participate in regional Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) teams and develop multi-agency networks for holistic responses to complex needs.
Design and implement training, induction, and supervisory programs for Guidance Officers.

Qualifications
Completed coursework Masters in guidance and counselling or equivalent, including psychoeducational assessment, counselling, and mental health.
OR general or provisional registration as a psychologist through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
OR an APAC-accredited four- or five-year qualification in psychology, enabling general registration following an internship or accredited study sequence.
