Registered Nurse - Blood Donor Services

About the Role:
We're seeking a Registered Nurse to support our blood donor services in a dynamic and rewarding environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to donors, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the donation process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assess potential donors to determine eligibility and suitability for donation
- Conduct routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests to ensure donor safety
- Prepare equipment and supplies for blood collection, including setting up machines and tubing
- Safely insert and remove needles to collect whole blood and plasma
- Provide clinical guidance and oversight to other team members during the blood collection process
- Manage any adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance as needed
- Monitor donors after donation and assist them with scheduling their next appointment
- Contribute to creating a positive and supportive donor experience that fosters repeat business

Requirements:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Ability to work 48 hours per fortnight across a variety of shifts, including weekends and afternoons
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to occasionally lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
